All of the students and faculty in the STEM Academy gathered in the auditorium in September to welcome the new students and hear all the latest academy news.
STEM Academy Seniors showed off their wonderful capstone projects in the EHS library on April 13. They did GREAT work, the library was buzzing with fun conversation as they explained their work to an interested audience.
Dr. Pamela Gibson from the Pathology Lab at UVM Medical Center gave a great talk on careers in the pathology lab. She brought along many organs for the students to examine at the conclusion of her talk, it was a fascinating experience!
32 seniors received honor cords and certificates at the STEM Senior ceremony on May 29. You all did a fabulous job in the STEM Academy and we wish every one of you a bright and happy future!

Over 50 STEM Academy students were on hand to hear about devices that can make life easier for senior citizens.
The spring internship class showcased their projects on Wed, June 14 in the EHS library. It was a wonderful night, thanks again to everyone in the community who welcomed these students into their labs and offices for a very memorable experience.
The STEM Academy is a place where students can explore their passion in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. We utilize the power of technology and the community to create a unique experience that allows each student to grow in their area of interest.
Students typically apply for the academy at the end of their freshman year. They will be placed in a STEM Advisory based on their interest area, the four advisory strands are life science, medicine, engineering and computer science. All students in the academy will need to attend 10 lecture series events, take the STEM internship class and complete an independent capstone project in their senior year.
